I have over 10 years of experience in working in the NHS and I have been working as an independent Clinical Psychologist since 2015. I obtained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psych) from Oxford University in 2011 and previously obtained a First Class degree in Psychology (BSc, Hons.) from Exeter University in 2006. I hold a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure, and full Professional Indemnity Insurance.
My current role in the NHS is working as the lead Senior Clinical Psychologist across the Endocrinology service at The Evelina Hospital, specialising in the Rare bone disease service. I previously worked as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital from June 2014 to April 2019. In this role I specialised in the paediatric psychology services for Gastroenterology and Burns services and also work in general paediatrics. Prior to my role in Chelsea, I was working as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital from October 2011 to June 2014. During my 3 years at Great Ormond Street Hospital I specialised in the paediatric psychology service for Gastroenterology and Urology.
I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology at Oxford University and spent 18 months of the 3-year course working in paediatric psychology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, where I worked in general paediatrics, Oncology, and spent a year specialising in and setting up the paediatric psychology service in gastroenterology.
I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS - membership no. 238386) and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC - Practitioner Psychologist, registration no. PYL27122).
I am a committee member of the Paediatric Psychology Network (PPN), which aims to promote the development of Paediatric Psychology within the UK, including professional practice, clinical governance, research and training. My role within the committee is manager of communications, the website, and their listserv.
I chair the Special Interest Group for paediatric psychologists working in paediatric gastroenterology.
I am also a member of the Faculty for Children, Young People & their Families (CYPF). This is a Member Network of the British Psychological Society's Division of Clinical Psychology. It consists of clinical psychologists who specialise in working with children, young people and their families.
I continue to develop my career through continued professional development. I am currently completing training in EMDR therapy with the EMDR Academy. In addition to this I completed the Foundation Course in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice obtained at Great Ormond Street Hospital via the Association for Family Therapy in 2014. I have also completed Level one in Narrative Therapy obtained from the Institute of Narrative Therapy in 2011. I have also completed supervision training and am able to offer supervision in the NHS and privately.
